£2.7m is being pumped into plans to significantly increase the number of sign language interpreters in Wales. The money is coming from The British Sign Language (BSL) Futures scheme which is funded by the EU and Welsh Assembly Government.

The funding will go towards training 36 apprentice interpreters, will assist public service bodies and will help serve the demand within businesses.
