|
A
£5.5m centre that will provide information and services to disabled
people has been given the green light. Watermead Centre is being run
by Leicestershire County Council and the charity, Mosaic. It will
include exhibition facilities, a cafe and a place of the school parties.
Jean Adcock, of Mosaic, said: "We see this type of partnership as
the way forward for developments which affect the lives of disabled
people."
Council leader Councillor David Parsons said: "This is an ambitious,
innovative and far-sighted project which will deliver real benefits
to all the people of Leicestershire, and be a model for the inclusive
provision of information and services for all our visitors."
The centre will be complete by 2008.
